Rory Gevis is an NYC-based artist, creating bespoke oil and digital portraits that celebrate the beauty of both people and pets.
Whether capturing your beloved dog in their favorite armchair or creating a custom family portrait framed by the textures of home - a treasured fabric, a storied wallpaper, a meaningful heirloom - Rory weaves personal elements into every painting.
Each of Rory's custom commissions is a thoughtful collaboration. You will work directly with Rory on the details that you would like included in your pet's custom portrait, sharing images and noting details that will ensure a bespoke work of art that feels deeply personal, emotional, and quietly luxurious.
Rooted in intimacy, elegance, and narrative nuance, Rory’s work is deeply inspired by her relationship with soul dog, Elsa. Our collaboration on this portrait project was born of a shared gratitude for four-legged family members, and it is our hope that this series celebrates and reflects the mutual love we feel for our pets, who, like Rory’s art, fill our lives with color, character, and enduring joy.
- Each portrait is hand-drawn digitally by Rory and professionally printed on archival-quality paper for a lasting keepsake. These printed portraits are available either unframed or framed.
- After placing a portrait order, you will receive an email requesting inspiration images and notes on additional details, from which Rory will illustrate your pet's custom portrait. Our team will personally connect you with Rory for direct communication.
- Along with a printed (framed or unframed) portrait, you will also receive a web-resolution file. That will be emailed at completion of the project.
- As you work with Rory on the details that you would like included in your custom portrait, you will be welcome to add additional elements - favorite toys, wallpapers, backgrounds etc. These additions may incur additional fees, and will be assessed at the discretion of the artist.
- In addition to digital illustrations, Rory also offers custom oil paintings ; these are priced upon request, and take into consideration size, detail, and number of subjects. You can check out samples of Rory's large-format oil paintings here

If choosing a solid background, you are all set on this! If choosing a detailed background, please note any extra or intricate details may incur additional fees.
Framing
Lo-Res digital prints will be emailed to the email address provided at checkout. Unframed prints will be mailed to recipient. If purchasing a framed digital print, please note if you would like a black or white wood frame. Other frame colors are available and may incur additional fees.
