After graduating from veterinary school in 1910, Dr. Elinor McGrath became the first practicing female veterinarian in the US.  Besides being a compassionate animal doctor, Elinor always acknowledged the intimate role that animals play in our lives, and practiced for almost 50 years.

Dr. McGrath’s was established by founder Juliette Fassett to tell Elinor’s story and stand as a tribute to her life’s work in caring for animals, and to establish a scholarship program to continue her legacy.
